Moonglow—

silent words
a radical empathy;
not dark, flat, or silly,
nor hip, intellectual, or proud,
but brave, still, and silent—

a deserved piece of
spiritual leverage
in lieu of my lack of truth

allow me to
indulge in the
wine white

allow me the embarrassment
of thinking I am brave,
even if for a moment

for the darkness
commands such things
